A win for Opmeer at Interlagos followed by a double points finish in Qatar was enough for the team to celebrate victory, its third Teams’ Championship title since the series was introduced in 2017, and the first Teams’
Meanwhile, Opmeer holds a dominant lead at the top of the Drivers’ Standings heading into the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, once again showing his class during the double-header as he claimed a third race win of the season.
Teammate Frederik Rasmussen sits fifth in the standings having earned two more strong points finishes for the Team, with the reigning champion completing a 1-2 finish for the team in Brazil.

Starting alongside one another on the second row of the grid at Interlagos, Opmeer and Rasmussen managed the opening stages of the race without incident despite the damp conditions which forced the entire field to begin on the intermediate tyres.
The calm start was then followed by an uneventful opening stint, with the Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing drivers running comfortably in third and fourth until Lap 9, when Rasmussen dived into the pits. As the rain was abating, Rasmussen opted for the medium tyres, re-joining the race in P17.
Opmeer waited two laps before pitting himself, with the Dutchman also switching onto the mediums. He re-entered the circuit in P7, one place ahead of Rasmussen, who himself was just able to stay ahead of Otis Lawrence.
The early pit paid off for Opmeer, who used the undercut to pass both Joris Croezen and race leader Thomas Ronhaar. This placed Opmeer at the head of the field, just ahead of Ronhaar in second and Rasmussen in third.
Ronhaar, now on the softs, refused to give up though and quickly reclaimed his lead on Lap 13 thanks to a move down the back straight. Opmeer didn’t fight back immediately, safe in the knowledge that he would have more tyre life as the race wore on.

And so it proved on Lap 18, when Opmeer and Rasmussen both passed Ronhaar into Turn 1, again taking advantage of the tow down the back straight. Ronhaar tried to battle with Rasmussen, but the Dane’s experience told, and he held off the KICK driver to claim P2.
As the rain persisted, Rasmussen switched back onto the intermediates on Lap 21, followed by Opmeer a lap later. The move proved wise for both drivers, with the rest of the field following suit, and the Bulls were able to retain their track position.
Despite some aggressive driving behind that landed Ronhaar a time penalty, Opmeer and Rasmussen held on during the remaining laps to secure the 1-2 finish, the team’s best result of the year.
The win was Opmeer’s second in a row and third of the season, while the P2 finish gave Rasmussen his second podium of the year.
Starting from third and seventh on the grid respectively, Rasmussen and Opmeer both got good launches during a dramatic start at the Lusail International Circuit.
Rasmussen briefly moved into second place before conceding a position to Nicolas Longuet, while Jarno Opmeer climbed up into P6 at the expense of Istvan Puki.

Neither driver was able to make further progress during the opening stint, with Opmeer stopping on Lap 10 for a set of medium tyres, followed by Rasmussen a lap later. The earlier stop proved decisive for Opmeer, who was just ahead of his teammate when Rasmussen emerged from pits.
The two Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing drivers showed good pace on the mediums, but overtaking proved difficult and Opmeer was briefly held up by Tycho Hardy, the teammate of Ronhaar who himself had started on the hard tyres and decided to run long. Opmeer and Rasmussen were eventually able to pass Hardy, but the time lost allowed Ronhaar to gain ground.
Things came to a head on Lap 23, when Ronhaar caught up to the back of Rasmussen and attempted to pass the Dane with a daring move up the inside. Rasmussen defended it well initially, but Ronhaar completed the move into the following corner to move ahead into P5.
Ronhaar passed Opmeer for fourth place a lap later, before going onto claim what looked like a crucial win. However, he was penalised after the race for an overly aggressive move on Longuet which relegated.
With Opmeer promoted to P4 and Rasmussen to P5, the team could celebrate its victory in the Teams’ Championship, a well earned title.
Opmeer will hope to bring the Drivers’ Championship too when things get underway in Abu Dhabi.
